WESTGATE, IOWA – A Northern Iowa couple is facing charges after authorities determined a report of a domestic dispute was fabricated.
On Friday, April 24, 2026, at approximately 9:09 PM, Fayette County Deputies responded to a call regarding a disturbance in Westgate. Upon arriving at the scene, investigators determined that the report of a domestic dispute was a false claim.
Following a further investigation into the incident, deputies took 67-year-old Jeff Walker and 55-year-old Julie Walker into custody. Both individuals have been charged with Harassment.
The pair was transported to the Fayette County Jail, where they were held pending an initial appearance. Records indicate that Jeff Walker has since bonded out of custody. Julie Walker was released by court order on the morning of April 25, 2026. Both are currently listed as out of custody following their initial appearances.
The Fayette County Sheriff’s Office continues to investigate the circumstances surrounding the false report.
