CLEAR LAKE – The Clear Lake community is remembering Roger Dale Westover, a United States Air Force veteran and skilled tradesman who passed away on April 23, 2026, at the age of 87.

An Iowa man with a deep appreciation for history, Roger was a graduate of Clear Lake High School. After graduation, he enlisted in the Air Force, serving his country until his honorable discharge. Upon returning home, he built a long career as a painter for an auto body shop, a role he held for many years.

Roger was born in Mason City and married Marilyn Jensen in 1960. Together, they raised their daughter, Tammy, and enjoyed taking day trips throughout the region. In his leisure time, Roger was an avid collector of World War II memorabilia and enjoyed exploring local history through antiquing. He was also known for his appreciation of a cold Red Dog beer and the simple company of his family and friends.

He is survived by his daughter, Tammy Boeshart of Clear Lake; his brother, Allan Westover; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Marilyn, and his son-in-law, Jeff Boeshart.
