September 5, 1961 – April 16, 2026

Bryan Rowson, 64, of Bristow, passed away Thursday, April 16, 2026. Funeral services will be 10:30 AM on Thursday, April 23, 2026 at the Woodley Funeral Home in Hampton. He will be laid to rest at the Dumont Cemetery. A public visitation will be held from 4-7 PM on Wednesday at the funeral home. Woodley Funeral Home of Hampton is caring for Bryan and his family.

Bryan Duane Rowson was born on September 5, 1961 to Keith and Marilyn (Thayer) Rowson in Mason City, Iowa. He graduated from Rockwell-Swaledale High School class of 1979. Bryan graduated from the World Wide College of Auctioneering and was an accomplished auctioneer.

On June 25, 1988 Bryan was united in marriage to Donna Kay DeVries at the Bennezette Wesleyan Methodist Church in Aredale, Iowa.

Bryan worked for Yohn-Co, Kelsey Creamery, Nick Ong Implement and Croell Redi-Mix for the past 27 years. A lifelong farmer, he had a deep love for his livestock and took pride in caring for them each day. Whether it was time spent on the farm with his girls, cheering on NTPA semi pulls, watching or racing horses or crafting something with his own hands in the woodshop, he was happiest when he was working hard and surrounded by the life he built. He found the greatest joy in being “papa” to his beloved granddaughter, Kendyll, who brought a light into his life that nothing else could match.

He had a special bond with his loyal dog, Rocky, and a true appreciation for Case IH tractors, which were more than just machines- they were part of who he was. He also deeply valued his time with Croell Ready-Mix, where he formed lasting connections and truly enjoyed his co-workers, drivers and customers he met along the way. His passions ran deep, but nothing meant more to him than the people he loved and the life he lived alongside them.

Those left to cherish Bryans memory are his loving wife, Donna Rowson of Bristow, Iowa; children, Sarah (Dale) Sturges of Rockwell, Iowa and Shelby (Mason) Eisentrager and his granddaughter, Kendyll Eisentrager of McCallsburg, Iowa. He is also survived by his brother, Paul (Yvonne) Rowson of Sheffield, Iowa; sister, Teresa (Mike) DeRoos of Donnellson, Iowa; sister-in-laws, LeAnn (Todd) Doty of Clarksville, Iowa and Marcia Rowson of Texas; brother-in-law, Ben (Brenda) DeVries of Hampton, Iowa and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; his father and mother-in-law; brothers, Roland and John and brother-in-law, Donny.
