Diane Tubbs, 71, of Iowa Falls, passed away on Thursday, September 25, 2025, at the Mary Greeley Medical Center in Ames. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. on Saturday, October 4, 2025, at the First Christian Church in Iowa Falls. Visitation will be an hour before the service. Funeral arrangements are under the guidance of the Surls Funeral Home in Iowa Falls.
Diane Kay Tubbs was born on August 16, 1954, in Omaha, Nebraska, to Darrel and Connie (Litz) Day.
Diane grew up in Florida, Arizona, Nebraska, and Iowa. At just 16, she began working at Kmart, beginning a lifelong love of connecting with people. After moving back to Omaha, she met the love of her life, Allyn Tubbs, while both were working at Plastilite Corporation. They married on April 5, 1975, and shared 40 wonderful years together until his passing.
For over a decade, Diane worked as a pharmacy technician, a role that perfectly suited her caring and outgoing nature. Above all, her greatest joy was spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Family meant everything to her, and she cherished every moment together.
She is survived by her children, Shawn Tubbs of Omaha, Nebraska; Dawn Thisen of Harlan, Iowa; and Amanda Arehart of Iowa Falls; her siblings, Terri Day of Papillion, Nebraska, Darrel Day Jr. of Iowa Falls, Daniel Day of Oviedo, Florida, and Debra Super; 10 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Darrel and Connie Day, and her beloved husband, Allyn Tubbs.
