Trudy L. Folkerts, age 76 of Forest City, IA, passed away on Monday, September 15, 2025 at the Good Samaritan Society in Forest City.

Trudy Lynn (Brock) was born on April 11, 1949 in Forest City, IA to parents Choen and Norma (Johnson) Brock. She grew up outside of the Lake Mills and Leland area, attending school in Lake Mills. On September 24, 1966, she was united in marriage to Larry A. Folkerts at Chanute Air Force Base in Illinois. Soon after, the couple moved to Minot, ND for Larry’s military service. It was there where they welcomed their only child, Larry John Folkerts. After Larry was honorably discharged, the family returned to the North Iowa area, living outside of Forest City ever since.
In her younger years, Trudy was a waitress at The Bullpen and a bartender at the Acorn Lounge before taking a job at Winnebago Industries, where she continued to work until her retirement. In her free time, she enjoyed going to auctions with Larry, and also went to the Britt Draft Horse Show every year. Above all, spoiling her grandchildren and great-granddaughter were her biggest enjoyments in life. She cherished every moment spent with them.
She is survived by her son, Larry John (Wanda) Folkerts of Crystal Lake, IA; grandchildren, Travis Folkerts of Forest City, IA and Tracie Folkerts of Forest City, IA; great-granddaughter, Vanessa; siblings, Rick Brock of Leland, IA, Jodene (Gary) Bartelson of Forest City, IA, and Terrel (Tammy) Brock of Forest City, IA; brothers and sisters in-law, Randy (Sue) Folkerts of Forest City, IA, Dennis Swanson of Clear Lake, IA, and Dawn Brock of Forest City, IA; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, extended relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Larry A. Folkerts in 2020; her parents, Choen and Norma Brock; father and mother in-law, Arthur and Lois Folkerts; siblings, John Brock and Rhonda King; a nephew, Branden Brock; and sisters-in-law, Judy Swanson and Karen Brock.
