Kay "Katherine" Anne Sanders, 73 of Mason City, died Sunday September 14th, 2025 surrounded by family. Funeral Services will be held, 10:30 AM Friday September 19th, 2025 at Sacred Heart Church in Rockwell.

Kay “Katherine” Anne Sanders, 73 of Mason City, IA died Sunday September 14th, 2025 surrounded by family.

Funeral Services will be held, 10:30 AM Friday September 19th, 2025 at Sacred Heart Church in Rockwell, IA.

The Family will greet relatives and friends one hour prior to Kay’s services.

Kay Sanders was born in Charles City, IA on August 31st, 1952. The daughter of Truman and Mildred Schissel, she attended Rockford and Rockwell schools. Following school, she met John and they were married on December 23rd, 1972. The couple became the proud parents of two children. She worked at Dollar General, a CNA Good Shepherd and Kwik Star.

Some of Kay’s Interests included mowing the lawn, spending time with her family, fishing, planting flowers.

She is now survived by her daughter Jessica (Mike) Coby, Parker, Noah, Kayla, and Braden Anderson of Mason City, IA. Chris (Fred) Lundt of Rockwell. Bob (Sue) of Rockwell, Ron (Mary) Schissel of Dougherty. Mary-Jean (Jerry) Ball of Glidden, IA.

Sister-In-Laws Jenny (Garry) Lucas of Smokey Mountain, Tennessee and Carolyn Galarza of Mesa, AZ. Lots of Nieces and Nephews.

Preceding Kay in death is her husband John C. Sanders Jr., her infant son Jeff, her father Truman Schissel, her mother Mildred Schissel. Her brother Gary Schissel. Niece Penny Rust. Brother-in-law Vincent Galarza.

I worked with Kay for a long time at a good Shepherd. She was a wonderful CNA, but a better human being. Please know those that knew her at GS had the greatest respect and admiration for her. May she RIP. May you all find peace. Know how sorry I am for your loss.

So sorry for your loss! Kay was such a wonderful woman always willing to help anyone, glad she was a huge part of our family, good friend of my moms! RIP Kay give mom a hug from us, see you on the other side! LOVE YOU!
