OBIT: Roger D. Fletcher

Roger Dean Fletcher of Clarion, Iowa, passed away on August 4th, 2025, at the age of 68. A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday August, 22nd, from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the Goldfield American Legion.

Roger Dean Fletcher of Clarion, Iowa, passed away on August 4th, 2025, at the age of 68.

Roger was born on August 6, 1956, in Clarion, Iowa, to Max and Patricia (Graves) Fletcher.

He was raised and educated in Goldfield. Where he graduated with the “Class of 1974”. He lived in Goldfield until 1988, then moved to Clarion.

Roger worked for Dodger in Eagle Grove, and Hagie Manufacturing for several years. He opened the Clarion Sports Card Shop in 1992. He enjoyed cars, especially drag racing and working on them, sports cards, fishing, the Iowa Hawkeyes, the 49ers, playing solitaire and playing Tecmo Bowl. Roger was a previous member of the Goldfield Fire Department.

He was preceded in death by his parents; infant brother, and sister-in-law sherry (Christopher) Fletcher.

Roger is survived by children: Chad (Mae), Curt, and Amy Fletcher all of Rio Rancho, New Mexico; grandchildren: Dylan and Phoenix of Rio Rancho, Brianna of Abilene, Tx, and Hunter Heath of Rio Rancho; brother, Jim Fletcher of Fort Dodge; nephew, David (Abby) of Nevada, IA; great nieces and nephew; Mercedes, Lexy and Finley Fletcher; great-grandnephew, Jasper, and numerous cousins and family.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday August, 22nd, from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the Goldfield American Legion. We do ask that you wear an Iowa Hawkeyes shirt for him! The burial will be at a later date in Glenwood Cemetery, Goldfield, IA.
