Elizabeth “Susie” Simon, 70, of Grundy Center, Iowa, passed away Saturday, June 14, 2025, at the Parkview Manor in Reinbeck, Iowa. A graveside service will be held on Thursday, June 26, 2025, 1:30 p.m. at the Wellsburg Reformed Church Cemetery in Wellsburg, Iowa.
Sue (Elizabeth) Ann Simon, the daughter of August and Shirley (Martin) Simon was born on November 17, 1954, in Carroll, Iowa. She grew up in Odebolt, Iowa, and received her education from Odebolt – Arthur High School, graduating in 1974. After high school she lived with her aunt and Uncle until finally settling in Grundy Center. She worked varies jobs throughout her life as a CNA and Med Aid until her retirement. She enjoyed being able to help people in any way she could. She met her partner John Freese and they shared 20 plus years together.
Left to cherish her memory includes Her brothers; Mike (Liz) Simon of Odebolt, Iowa, and Jeff Simon of Council Bluffs, Iowa, sister-in-law; Nancy Simon of Sutherland, Iowa, Niece; Lindsay (Troy Werkmeister) Simon of Sutherland, Iowa, Nephews; A.J. Simon of Sutherland, Iowa, and J.P. Simon of Council Bluffs, Iowa. She was preceded in death by her parents; Benny and Shirley Simon, brothers; Pat and Gary Simon, a sister-in-law Kathy Simon, and partner; John Freese.
