Lora L. Meier, age 65, passed away on Monday, April 7, 2025 at the Concord Care Center in Garner, IA.
Visitation for Lora will be from 5:00 – 7:00 PM on Thursday, April 10, 2025 at Schott Funeral Homes in Forest City, IA, and will continue one hour prior to the service on Friday.
A funeral service for Lora will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, April 11, 2025 at the Schott Funeral Home in Forest City, IA, with Pastor Eric Weaver officiating.
Burial will take place around 2:00 PM that afternoon at the Clear Lake Municipal Cemetery in Clear Lake, IA.
Lora Lee (Weaver) was born in Forest City, IA on February 26, 1960 to parents Dennis and Doris (Rossiter) Weaver. She grew up in Clear Lake, IA, where she graduated high school.
Lora married her high school sweetheart, John Craighton and were happily married until his death from an automobile accident in 1980. Lora would move to Manning, IA for years where she met Dave Nelson. The couple spent 12 years together before their relationship ended. She soon met Jeffrey Meier and the two were united in marriage on January 12, 1996. To this union, two sons were born: Devin and Jordan.
Lora worked at Motel 6 in Forest City, as well as White Transfer, before being hired at Winnebago Industries. Lora would work at Winnebago for many years until her health forced to her retire. Lora had a love for her cats, and enjoyed going to rummage sales and thrift stores, but above else came the love for her two children. Her life revolved around her two children, and her favorite activities were anything and everything they did together. They were her life.
She is preceded in death by both parents, Dennis and Doris Weaver; as well as both sets of grandparents.
Lora is survived by her two children, Devin Meier and Jordan Meier; half-sister, Marianne Sonyo; as well as cousins, extended relatives, and close friends.
