James “Jim” Thomas Luecht, 72, of Mason City, IA passed away with his family by his side on Monday, April 7, 2025 at MercyOne North Iowa Medical Center.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 10, 2025 from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. at Hogan Bremer Moore Colonial Chapel, 126 3rd St NE, Mason City, IA 50401.
Jim was born on June 6, 1952 in Mason City, IA to Ralph and Mary (Hutchison) Luecht. He grew up in Mason City, IA and graduated from Mason City High School.
He was a devoted father, grandfather, and friend. Jim was a man of few words but showed his love through action. Jim was stubborn, quiet, and stoic, but always there when his family needed him. He never missed an event for his grandchildren. His dedication to his children and grandchildren was unwavering, and his support was a constant in their lives.
Jim had a few passions outside of family. He enjoyed trips to the casino, watching the Minnesota Twins and Iowa Hawkeyes, and riding his Harley. He found joy in these simple pleasures and often shared them with the people closest to him.
Those left to cherish Jim’s memory are his children Jared Luecht and Ashley (Brandon) Schmidt; grandchildren Kaiden Schmidt, Kinsley Schmidt and Parker Luecht; siblings Gary (Kathy) Luecht, Denny (Theresa Ward) Luecht, Patti (George) Masmanides, Jean (Garry) Price and John (Jackie) Luecht; extended family and close friends.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents Ralph and Mary Luecht and sister Libby Luecht.
