Women’s College Basketball: Iowa Hawkeyes defeat Wisconsin Badgers, 81-66

IOWA CITY – Iowa (20-9, 10-8) defeated Wisconsin (13-16, 4-14), 81-66, Sunday inside Carver-Hawkeye Arena in Iowa City.

Hannah Stuelke chipped in 21 points (7-12 FG) and 15 rebounds which was one shy of her career high. It was Stuelke’s ninth career double-double and fifth of the season. Stuelke has the eighth-most career double-doubles in program history since 2009. Stuelke reached double figures for the 57th time in her career. Stuelke was a perfect 7-of-7 from the free throw line. It was her first career double-double with 20+ points.

Sydney Affolter finished with 10 points and three rebounds. Affolter has reached double digits 13 times this year. Over the last nine games, Affolter is shooting 63 percent from 3-point range. (20-32)

Lucy Olsen recorded 22 points, 2-of-4 (3FG), three rebounds, and two assists. It was Olsen’s 40th career game with 20+ points and 11th as a Hawkeye.

Addi O’Grady netted 10 points and went 5-of-5 from the field.

Iowa has won 30 straight against Wisconsin dating back to Feb. 25, 2007.

In Big Ten play, Iowa is 63-18 over the past four seasons.

The Hawkeyes are 126-20 in Iowa City dating back to Nov. 11, 2016.

The Hawkeyes made 93 percent of their free throws. (14-15)

Iowa led the contest for 34:05.

Iowa outscored Wisconsin in points from the bench, fast breaks, and turnovers.

Iowa is 6-0 when scoring 80+ points against Big Ten competition.

The Hawkeyes will head to Indianapolis for the Big Ten Tournament inside Gainbridge Arena. The conference office will announce game times and seeding after the conclusion of the Oregon/Washington contest.
