BOONE COUNTY, IOWA – Law enforcement in this Northern Iowa county announced numerous recent arrests and prosecutions for week ofDecember 9 – 20, 2024.

George James Jackson, 56, Boone, was sentenced by the District Court following a guilty plea to Domestic Abuse Assault 2nd, an Aggravated Misdemeanor. The defendant was sentenced to 2 years in prison, completion of a batterer’s education course, and payment of a fine and fees. The case was investigated by the Boone County Sheriff’s Office.

GEORGE JAMES JACKSON

Erik Michael Finsand, 31, Boone, was sentenced by the District Court following a bench trial jury of guilty to Indecent Exposure, a Serious Misdemeanor. The conduct revolved around defendant’s exposure and masturbation in the Boone Walmart. The defendant was sentenced to 60 days in jail along with requirements for 10 years on the Sex Offender Registry and a 10 year special parole. The case was investigated by the Boone Police Department.

ERIK MICHAEL FINSAND

Mark Allen Casey, 46, Madrid, was sentenced by the District Court following a guilty plea to OWI 3rd, a Class D Felony. The defendant was sentenced to 5 years in prison, with placement to an OWI program, plus a course for drinking drivers, and payment of a fine and fees. The case was investigated by the Boone County Sheriff’s Office.

MARK ALLEN CASEY

Brandon James Svaleson, 43, Boone, was found in Contempt by the District Court following an admission to having violated the terms of his probation. On the Contempt, the defendant’s probation was modified to include completion of a Residential Correctional Facility and to reside in custody pending a bed.

Jodi Jean Zander, 49 Madrid, was found in Contempt by the District Court following an admission to having violated the terms of her probation. On the Contempt, the defendant’s probation was modified to include completion of a Residential Correctional Facility and to reside in custody pending a bed.

Coby Lowell Combs, 51, Fort Dodge, was sentenced by the District Associate Court following guilty pleas to Domestic Abuse Assault 2nd and Assault While Displaying a Dangerous Weapon, both Aggravated Misdemeanors. The defendant was sentenced to 2 years in prison with all but 2 days suspended. On the suspended portion, the defendant was placed on probation with terms to include completion of a substance abuse evaluation with follow through of treatment, a batterer’s education course, plus payment of a fine and fees. The case was investigated by the Boone Police Department.

James Gregory Pratt, 43, Des Moines, was sentenced by the District Associate Court following a guilty plea to OWI 2nd, an Aggravated Misdemeanor. The defendant was sentenced to 2 years in prison for placement in the OWI program, completion of a substance abuse evaluation with follow through of treatment, a course for drinking drivers, plus payment of a fine and fees. The case was investigated by the Boone Police Department.

Tiffany Nicole Coffman, 41, Colo, was sentenced by the District Associate Court following guilty pleas to Possession of Methamphetamine, OWI 1st, and Assault on Persons in Certain Occupations, all Serious Misdemeanors. The defendant was sentenced to 1 year in jail with all but 6 days suspended. On the suspended portion, the defendant was placed on probation with terms to include completion of a substance abuse evaluation with follow through of treatment, a course for drinking drivers, plus payment of a fine and fees. The case was investigated by the Boone Police Department.

Jesse Arnold Hunter, 39, Colo, was sentenced by the District Associate Court following a jury verdict of guilty to Assault Causing Bodily Injury, a Serious Misdemeanor. The defendant was sentenced to 1 year in jail with all but 30 days suspended. On the suspended portion the defendant was placed on probation with terms plus payment of a fine and fees. The case was investigated by the Boone Police Department.

Samuel Patrick Milani, 37, Madrid, was sentenced by the District Associate Court following guilty plea to Possession of Methamphetamine, a Serious Misdemeanor. The defendant was sentenced to 90 days in jail, with all but 2 days suspended. On the suspended portion the defendant was placed on probation with terms to include completion of a substance abuse evaluation with follow through of treatment, plus payment of a fine and fees. The case was investigated by the Boone Police Department.

Carol Ann Taylor, 56, Windsor Heights, was sentenced by the District Associate Court following a guilty plea to OWI 1st, a Serious Misdemeanor. The defendant was sentenced to 2 days in jail, completion of a substance abuse evaluation with follow through of treatment, a course for drinking drivers, plus payment of a fine and fees. The case was investigated by the Boone County Sheriff’s Office.
