Diana Lee Dennis, 57, of Mason City, Iowa, passed away unexpectedly in her home November 30, 2024.
A funeral service will take place at 3:30pm Monday, December 9, 2024 at Hogan Bremer Moore Colonial Chapel, 126 3rd St. NE, Mason City, IA 50401. Visitation will take place one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
Diana was born May 15, 1967 in Mason City, Iowa; daughter of Irvin and Sheila (Chodur) Dennis. With Irvin in the military, the family traveled quite a bit during her childhood. She attended high school in Fort Knox, Kentucky but ultimately graduated from Junction City High School in Junction City, Kansas with the class of 1985. Diana spent a few years in California. Ultimately she felt the call to settle down near her family and here she has stayed since 1991. For over 23 years she worked as a laundry aid with Heritage Care Center. Most recently she worked as a sales associate with Fleet Farm.
Diana had a passion for poetry and reading. She especially enjoyed classic historical fiction and short stories. Before her health got in the way, she also enjoyed going on nature walks with the family. During the holidays she loved spending time with her family and she was always happy to go out for coffee with them and her friends whenever the opportunity arose. Diana also enjoyed going to concerts with her family and friends
Those left to cherish her memory are her mother, Sheila, sisters, Laurie Murphy and Sandra Leake; as well as four nieces, extended family, and friends
Preceding her in death are her father, Irvin; brothers, David Dennis and William “Bill” Dennis; as well as both maternal and paternal grandparents.
