NIACC’s Alessandrini earns first-team all-region men’s soccer honors

MASON CITY – NIACC sophomore keeper Edoardo Alessandrini was selected to the NJCAA Region 11 Division II first team on Wednesday.

NIACC’s Elia Salvatore Antonini was a second-team all-region selection. The Trojans’ Pablo Salas and Stanley Fovargue earned honorable mention all-region honors under second-year head coach Gannon Harsma.
Alessandrini, a sophomore from Rome, Italy, made 51 saves and had a saver percentage of .739.

Alessandrini was selected as the ICCAC Division II and NJCAA Division II goalkeeper of the week for the week of Aug. 22-25.

Salvatore Antonini, a sophomore midfielder from Cividate Camuno, Italy, led the Trojans with eight goals and five assists.

Salas, a sophomore midfielder from Cancun, Mexico, scored five goals with four assists.

Fovargue, a freshman defender from Bildeston , Babergh, England, scored one goal this season.

NIACC was 10-6 overall and 3-5 in the ICCAC in the 2024 season. The 10 wins is the most for the NIACC men’s soccer team since the 2011 season when the Trojans were 16-3-1.

Northeast CC forward Edouard Nys was the regional player of the year for the second straight season.
Northeast CC’s Adam Potter was the regional coach of the year.
