Beverly Ann (Mix) Cornelius of Mason City, Iowa died Saturday, August 31, 2024, at Country Meadow Place in Mason City.

A Funeral Mass will be held 10:30 am Friday, September 6, 2024, at Epiphany Parish – St. Joseph Catholic Church, 300 5th St SE, Mason City with Rev. Dave O’Connor as Celebrant. The family will greet relatives and friends beginning at 9:00 am until the time of Mass at the church on Friday.

Beverly was born September 7, 1938, in Jackson, MN, the daughter of Harry and Anna (Egge) Mix. She moved to Mason City where she met and married Joseph “Earl” Cornelius on December 1, 1956. Together they raised four sons, Mike, Dan, Joe, and Chuck.

Beverly worked for Bergos and Younkers in Mason City, and later Beverly and Earl moved to Urbandale where she continued to work for Younkers as an Estée Lauder regional manager traveling to sell cosmetics. Beverly returned to Mason City after the death of Earl in 2016. Beverly was a quiet, elegant woman who believed in hard work, had a strong faith, and raised her boys with the same beliefs. Although Beverly was a small woman compared to her boys, they knew exactly who the boss was! Beverly enjoyed her many cats over the years, was an avid reader, and loved to paint and draw.

Beverly is survived by her four sons, Michael (Roberta) of Mason City; Daniel (Terri) of Corpus Christie, Texas; Joseph (Tina) of Ankeny; and Charles (Kam) of Pella; nine grandchildren; nine step grandchildren; and eleven great grandchildren; as well as extended family and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Joseph Earl Cornelius; brothers, Gordon Mix and Vern Mix; sisters, Lucille Vestal, Alvina Kingsbury, and Norma Rowe; and a grandson, Nathaniel Cornelius.
