Rosanne Francine “Rose” Beelman, 72, of Fort Madison, passed Thursday, August 29, 2024, after a long journey fighting multiple health issues.

A gentle friend to all, Rosie was a longtime manager and server at the Palms Supper Club. At the age of 15, she met the love of her life, Richard “Rick” Beelman at Thompson’s Café.

The couple were married on April 17, 1971, and had two children together.

She enjoyed playing euchre, planting flowers, and soaking up the sun with one of her many hats on. Above all, she impacted so many lives by just being her kind, social self. That impact was evident when hundreds of people showed up and supported her struggle at the Rack ‘Em for Rosie event in early August.

Those left to cherish Rose’s memory are her husband of 53 years, Rick Beelman; daughter Monica (Doug) Smith; son, Shane (Amy) Beelman; grandchildren, Tanner Smith, Emily Smith, Remington “Remi” Smith, Ava Smith, Landen Beelman, Laurel (Dustin) Beelman, Hannah Parkins; great-grandchildren; Lincoln Beelman, Dax Stevenson, and Nova; siblings, Joanne Henning, Jerry (Anita) Miller, Sue (Ron) Menke and Mary (Gary) Featheringill; Rick’s siblings, Bruce (Diane), Dan, Bonnie Williams (Tim), Connie Basham (Mike), Robin Foehring (Dave) Shelly Seager (Rick), Sheri Hawk (John); as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members and friends.

The family will be having a private Rosary and Mass at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Clear Lake, IA. Father Josh Link will be presiding. A graveside service will be held on Friday, September 13th, 2024 at 1:00pm in Soldier’s Circle, Oakland Cemetery. A celebration of life will be held immediately after at the Eagles Club in Fort Madison, Iowa.

Rose was preceded in death by her parents, Delmer and Marian (Pauly) Miller; foster grandson, Adian Levi Smith; brother, Robert Miller; sister-in-law, Kathy Miller; brother-in-law, Wayne Henning, brother-in-law, Ron Beelman; and nephew, Jason Creen.

In lieu of flowers, please hug a loved one today, because you truly never know. A memorial has been established in her memory and online condolences may be left at http://www.kinglynk.com.

Rose will be dearly missed.
