FORT DODGE – One person was injured in Fort Dodge Wednesday night when a car was shot up, and police are searching for suspects.

On Wednesday, August 7, at approximately 7:44 PM, the Webster County Telecommunications Center received a call of shots fired. Officers were dispatched to 14th Ave S and S 25th Street where a caller stated they had stopped their vehicle after it had been damaged as a result of the gun shots.

Patrol officers arrived on scene, and they located a vehicle with bullet holes and a male with minor injuries as a result of glass shattering inside the vehicle. The injured person denied any medical attention and no other injuries were reported. Officers were then directed to the area of the 14th Ave S and S 24th Street as the location where the shots had been fired.

Upon further investigation from the patrol officers and the responding investigators, witnesses were located as well as physical evidence was collected.

At this time investigators with the Criminal Investigations Division are continuing to follow up on this incident, police say.

Anyone with information on this incident is encouraged to contact the Fort Dodge Police. With all investigations, any video evidence is essential to resolving an incident and police encourage citizens in this area to contact the police department with video footage they may have.
