Linda Rae Anderson, 78, of Crystal Lake, IA, passed away on May 25, 2024 at Mercy One North Iowa Medical Center in Mason City, IA.

Memorials may be directed to the family of Linda Anderson.

Linda was born on August 9, 1945 at her home outside of Garner, IA to Ed and Dorothy (Swaney) Brown. Growing up she attended Crystal Lake High School. Linda continued to work hard as a waitress where she met her future husband James, and later worked in fiberglass and plastic at Winnebago Industries until her retirement.

On July 3, 1963 Linda and James were united in marriage in Crystal Lake, IA and from this union four children were born; Tammy, Crystal, Barbra and Rick. As a family there were often camping and fishing trips and Linda would get the bullheads that she loved to eat. Together they worked on woodworking projects where James would build them and Linda would paint or stain them. She always had a project she was working on, often more than one at a time.

Linda would often be found outside working on her flowerbeds that she had great pride in. She loved to be outside and showing off her “green thumb”, especially with her Christmas cactus that is around 60 years old! Linda found joy in having projects ranging from crafts, sewing, baking and many others. She was known to be a collector as well with her chickens but also with anything that she found pretty enough to keep in her home.

She was feisty and strong-willed but she was also a dedicated and loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Linda would do anything for her children and was always there no matter what, events, projects, surgeries, anything and she was there. She quickly became known as the “baby whisperer” as she was always able to soothe any crying baby that came into her arms.

Those left to cherish Linda’s memory are her children Tammy (John) Peterson of Iowa Falls, IA, Crystal (Michael) Maass of Buffalo Center, IA, Barbra Anderson of Clear Lake, IA and Ricky (Amber) Anderson of Fertile, IA; her grandchildren, Nathaniel, Courtney, Mandy, Callie, Bradley, Melissa, Christopher, Dylan, Caprice and Chloe; 18 great-grandchildren; sisters Darlene Klasse and Arlis Hanna and her beloved dog Peaches.

Linda is preceded in death by her husband James Anderson; parents Ed and Dorothy Brown; parents-in-law Helen and Melvin Anderson and infant brother David Brown.
