The celebration of life for Robin will take place July 13th, 2024, at Maynes Grove Lodge, 946 US-65, Hampton, IA 50441; from 1:00 pm to 4:00pm; with the memorial service held at 2:30pm. There is a Facebook Events Page to RSVP.

Robin Louise Bruns was born on November 4, 1961, in Iowa City, Iowa; she is the daughter of Larry and Gretchen (Adams) Bruns. Robin graduated from South Page high school in 1980; continuing her education through the military, where she learned mandarin Chinese, among other things, and later in life through St Paul, where she took her course of study.

Robin was a proud to serve her country in the United States Army as a LT Spec 4. While serving her country in Okinawa she met her husband, Richard Thomas. They were united in marriage on December 1, 1984; to this union three children were born.

Robin wore many different titles in her life, secretary, stay at home mom; but the one that Robin excelled at was being a pastor. Robin entered the ministry as a Licensed Local Pastor, and after many years and hard work she was able to retire as an Associate Member. Robin felt honored to serve her community in any way that the lord called, be it offering a warm home cooked meal, to being a listening ear and guide.

In Robin’s free time she enjoyed spending time with friends and family. Robin was well known for cooking for an army as she liked to put it. Robin was also known to always have something in her hands, very rarely did you ever see her without her knitting or crochet.

Survivors include her husband Richard Thomas of Clear Lake, Children Joshua David Christopher; Gretchen Ruth Anna; and Isaac Daniel Matthew, and her many children in heart. Robin also left behind Siblings Christopher Bruns of Cedar Rapids, IA, and Larry Bruns of St Joseph, MO.
