Billy Lee Mastbergen was born on January 2, 1945, to Herbert and Magdaline (Muilenburg) Mastbergen in Sheldon, Iowa. He died on April 20, 2024, at the Sanford Medical Center in Sioux Falls, SD at the age of 79 years.
He graduated from Melvin High School before enlisting in the United States Air Force. Billy married Ruth Shultz on January 3, 1976.
Billy worked for John Morrell for 36 years.
He was a life member of the VFW, the American Legion, and the Military Order of the Cootie. Bill and Ruth enjoyed golfing and spending time at the Wild Rose.
Billy is survived by his stepson, Pat (Amy) Shultz and their daughter, Dalen of Worthington; step-granddaughters; many step-great-grandchildren; his brother, James (Lily) Mastbergen; as well as many nieces, nephews, and other extended family members.
He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Ruth; stepson, Mike Shultz; sisters, Mary Ann Malow and Alice Brandt; and a brother, Hubert Mastbergen.
