Mark D. O’Gorman, 70, previously of Mason City, passed away Saturday, March 16, 2024, at the Westview Care Center in Britt. A graveside service will be held Monday, March 25, 2024, at 1 p.m., at Elmwood-St. Joseph Cemetery.

Mark D. O’Gorman, 70, previously of Mason City, passed away Saturday, March 16, 2024, at the Westview Care Center in Britt. A graveside service will be held Monday, March 25, 2024, at 1 p.m., at Elmwood-St. Joseph Cemetery in Mason City. Military Honors will be conducted by the Mason City Veterans Association.

Mark David O’Gorman was born on March 8, 1954, to parents Leo O’Gorman and Ruth Hintzen in Decorah, Iowa. Mark graduated from South Winneshiek High School in Calmar, and then went on to NIACC where he received is AAS in conservation. Mark enlisted in the United States Army, and bravely served his country 1972-1975 in the Vietnam War.

Mark was employed at Pella as a Team Leader, and later, Sukup’s until his retirement. He enjoyed the simple things in life, being outdoors, conservation, and enjoyed teaching edible plant classes at NIACC. Mark will be deeply missed by those who knew him and loved him.

Mark is survived by brother, L. Craig O’Gorman; ex-wife, Irma; dear friend, Todd Clemons, and several nieces and nephews.

Mark was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Leo O’Gorman and sister, MaryLou Garfin.
