RURAL MASON CITY – An Osage couple ended up in a ditch and then the hospital after snow and ice contributed to an auto accident this morning outside Mason City.
On Sunday, March 24, 2024 at about 8:33 AM, a White 2001 Chevy Tahoe being driven by 71-year-old Frederick Giles of Osage was driving South on Thrush Ave in the area of 290th Street in Cerro Gordo County when he lost control due to snow and ice on the roadway and entered the west ditch. The Tahoe rolled and landed back on the wheels. Also in the vehicle was 71-year-old Ruby Giles, also from Osage.
As a result of the accident, both occupants complained of minor pain and were taken to Mercy Hospital to be checked out.
The Cerro Gordo County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Plymouth Fire Department and Mason City Fire Medics.
