MASON CITY – The new owners of the former Country Club golf course held a groundbreaking ceremony this week for their new, modernized Legacy Golf Course at the 19.
According to the North Iowa Corridor, on Tuesday morning, March 19, “the Pritchard family proudly broke ground at the Legacy Golf Course at the 19, marking a significant milestone for our community. Originally established as the Mason City Country Club in 1915, this revitalized Legacy Golf Course not only offers premier golfing experiences but also introduces North Iowa’s newest event space!
“We’re thrilled to witness this expansion, adding even more value to our region,” a Corridor statement continued. “Congratulations to the Pritchard family and all involved in this exciting venture!”
The golf course property was sold to the new owners in 2022 and a vision for the new look and potential was unveiled. A profile in Visit Mason City describes the course and amenities as “Legacy Golf Course at the 19 (formerly Mason City Country Club) is a traditional 18-hole championship course layout, 72 par. The course features fast greens and smooth tree-lined fairways. It was built in 1915 and holds a heritage of well-manicured greatness that is still evident today. Foodservice is available from the Cabana.” It offers a banquet space that accommodates 365 guests.
City Hall in Mason City also relaxed zoning regulations to allow for further developments on the property, which continue at this time.

So they tore down the country club building and put up a garage with cement floor and tv. Sure glad they got all that tax money from Mason City. Go back to Garner
