MASON CITY – Garner, Iowa based Stellar Industries announced plans to expand their operations in Mason City through the purchase of a former distribution facility located at 2400 19th Street SW. The North Iowa Corridor EDC coordinated efforts with the company and City of Mason City to bring the project to fruition, partnering to build on Stellar’s 33-year history of growth and support in North Iowa.

The newly purchased property is adjacent to the company’s existing 230,000 sq/ft Mason City facility, adding 155,000 square feet and 18 acres of property to significantly enhance its manufacturing capabilities in the region. As a company deeply rooted in North Iowa, this expansion reflects Stellar Industries’ dedication to driving economic prosperity within the local community and its pursuit of designing and manufacturing the highest-quality, most innovative equipment for the work truck industry.

“Purchasing this facility underscores our continued investment in North Iowa and our commitment to meeting the evolving needs of our customers,” said Dave Zrostlik, President at Stellar Industries. “We are excited about the potential this expansion holds for our company and the opportunities it will create for both our employee owners and the Mason City community.”

The City Council of Mason City plans to consider a development agreement and amendment to its urban renewal area in the near future to facilitate the expansion. Stellar will invest over $15 million and create at least 40 new jobs over the first five years of the project, and the City will provide a 10-year annual rebate agreement not to exceed $1 million.

“Mason City is open for business and greatly appreciates the opportunity to partner with Stellar Industries on this exciting development for our community,” said Bill Schickel, Mayor of Mason City. “We were thrilled to work with the company’s leadership to encourage their further investment and growth here.”

Stellar anticipates utilizing the newly purchased property to expand its manufacturing capacity over the next few years, further solidifying its position as a leading provider of mechanic trucks, cranes, tire service trucks, hooklifts, trailers and service truck accessories.

“We couldn’t be more excited to partner with Stellar on their continued growth and investment in North Iowa”, said Chad Schreck, President and CEO of the North Iowa Corridor. “Their commitment to local communities, schools, and non-profits is an incredible example of the importance of strong local businesses that are committed to including the community in their growth and success.”

Stellar was founded in 1990 in Garner, Iowa, and has since expanded operations to multiple U.S. locations. Stellar is a 100% employee-owned and -operated manufacturer of high-quality work trucks and trailers, in addition to service truck and van accessories. Through the innovative, growing product line and an expanding distribution network, the company has gained an international presence and become the No. 1 productivity choice in many markets.
