MASON CITY – A local manufacturing plant that suffered damage during a recent blaze in the facility donated to the Mason City Fire Department for their efforts during the emergency.
On January 24, 2024 at 2:43 AM, the Mason City Fire Department responded to a fire inside material processing equipment located at 1605 19th Street SW, Ag Processing.
According to a statement from the Mason City Fire Department:
The Mason City Fire Department would like to acknowledge AGP of Mason City for their efforts during a recent emergency incident at their facility. MCFD crews were called to an emergency at their Mason City processing plant which turned into a protracted event with our crews on site for nearly 14 hours. Thanks to the staff at AGP’s seamless coordination and in-depth knowledge of their production equipment, the operation proceeded smoothly and safely. Your commitment to safety and willingness to partner with our department exemplifies the importance of community cooperation in ensuring swift and effective emergency response.
We also extend our sincere appreciation to AGP for their generous donation to the Mason City Fire Department. Your support is invaluable as we strive to enhance our capabilities and better serve our community. The funds donated will be utilized for upgrading our fire prevention, investigation, and high hazard pre-incident planning technologies. This investment will bolster our ability to prevent emergencies, conduct thorough investigations, and effectively mitigate risks in high hazard areas.
