Marian Irene (Boofer) Meerdink, the daughter of Lloyd Marion and Helen Irene (Hazelwood) Boofer, was born on November 29, 1942, in Des Moines. She attended schools in Osage and graduated from Charles City High School in 1961. Marian met

Paul Meerdink at a church youth group bowling party. They were married on June 29, 1962. She was a devoted wife and lovingly took care of Paul in his final months until his passing on September 15, 2022.
