Dexter White Jr, age 28, is wanted in connection to a 2017 shooting in Yazoo County Mississippi leaving one dead. White is wanted in Yazoo County, MS on charges of capital murder and armed robbery.
In October of 2023, detectives with the Waterloo Police Department developed information White may be residing in the Waterloo area. Members of the US Marshals Northern I o Fugitive Task Force began investigating and coordinated with U.S. Marshals in Mississippi.
On the morning of January 25, task force officers narrowed their search to an address in the 400 block of East Arlington Street in Waterloo. Shortly after 2 PM, White was identified exiting a residence and was subsequently taken into custody. White was transported to the Black Hawk County Jail. White will remain in custody until extradition to Mississippi.
The U.S. Marshals Service is the federal government’s primary agency for fugitive investigations, Nationwide, 60 local task farces are dedicated to violent crime reduction by locating and apprehending wanted criminals. These task forces also serve as the central point for agencies to share information on fugitive matters. The Northern Iowa Fugitive Task Force comprises officers from the U.S. Marshals Service, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, Cedar Rapids Police Department, Waterloo Police Department, Marion Police Department the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation, and the Iowa Department of Corrections.
