Michael Robert Handt, 67 of Charles City died at home.
A memorial will be held at a later date.
Mike was born on November 8, 1956 in Charles City the son of Robert and Wilma (Koebrick) Handt. He graduated with the class of 1975 from Charles City High School. He then received his bachelor degree in Business from UNI. He was employed by several companies including Pamida, Hy-Vee, and McDonalds. Later, he operated his own lawn care business for many years and enjoyed his customers and keeping their lawn’s looking good. He enjoyed fishing, playing tennis and participating in various activities at the “Y” in his younger days. His favorite activity was golfing with his father, Bob, at Wildwood. He dearly loved his two companion cats, Jimmy and Johnny.
Surviving Mike is his sister Teri and her husband David Nelson from Mound, Minnesota, Niece Kristi (Jake) Cherney and Matthew (Kayla) Nelson.
Preceding him in death are his parents and grandparents.
