Irene Evelyn Sauer, 94, passed away on Saturday December 23, 2023 at Good Shepherd Health Care Center, Mason City, Iowa.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:30 am Wednesday, January 3, 2024 at Epiphany Parish – St. Joseph Catholic Church, 302 5th St SE, Mason City with Rev. Ben Valentine as Celebrant. Burial will follow in the Saint Patricks Cemetery, Britt, Iowa.
Visitation will begin at 9:30 am on Wednesday and will continue until 10:30 am at the church.
Irene was born three and a half miles north west of Britt, Iowa on June 2, 1929, daughter of Joseph and Catherine “Katie” (Ingenthrone) Sauer. She went to the country school in Britt, Iowa. Irene worked in several restaurants, cleaning apartment buildings and other local businesses in the Britt and Mason City area. In Irene’s free time she enjoyed taking long walks, reading, and watching comedies and western movies.
Those left to cherish memories of Irene are her nieces and nephews; as well as other extended family and friends.
Irene is preceded in death by her parents, Joe and Katie Sauer; brothers, Steve, George, Joseph, Lawrence, and Francis; sisters, Bertha, Florence, and Anna Marie.
