Michael Roger Cheney, 63, of Charles City, passed away Thursday, November 30, 2023 at his home with his family by his side.
A gathering of family and friends will be held from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 9, 2023 at Hauser Weishaar Funeral Home in Charles City.
Michael Roger Cheney, the son of Roger Cheney and Audrey (Feuerhak) Friedoff, was born June 28, 1960 in Cresco, Iowa. He attended school in Charles City, Iowa and received his GED from NIACC.
Michael’s hobby in life was his dog, Zoie. She went everywhere with him, and they did everything together. Michael also really enjoyed hunting. He could spend hours upon days hunting. The last few years he didn’t care if he got anything, just as long as he was there doing the motions with Zoie by his side every step of the way.
Living family members include his children: Jeremy Round of Livermore, Heather Cheney of Charles City and Holly Cheney of Charles City; grandchildren: Layla Round, Audrey Round, Jeremy Round, Jr., Tuckyr White, Ethan Salinas, Breadyn Salinas, Masen Salinas and Jayden Salinas; his mother, Audrey Friedoff and step-father, Frank Friedoff; brother, Jeff Cheney; and sister, Pam Schmidt of Charles City.
Michael was preceded in death by his father, Roger Cheney along with several other family members.
