CLEAR LAKE – A Clear Lake motorcyclist was severely injured when struck by pickup in town this week.
According to the Iowa State Patrol, the accident took place on November 14, 2023. Paul Wohnoutka, age 29 of Clear Lake, was eastbound on Highway 18 near N. 24th Street in Clear Lake and failed to stop at this intersection. As the motorcycle entered the intersection, it struck a 2020 Chevy Silverado driven by 38-year-old James Doyle of Anamosa.
Wohnoutka, who was wearing a helmet, was ejected from the motorcycle and suffered life-threatening injuries. He was transported by Clear Lake EMS to Mercy One Hospital in Mason City.
