BOONE COUNTY – A Rockford man avoided prison for drunk driving, but recently received another ticket after the court plea deal.
Carson C Riley, age 30 of Rockford, was sentenced by the District Associate Court following a guilty plea to second-offense operating while intoxicated, an aggravated misdemeanor. The guilty plea was connected to his arrest by the Boone county sheriff’s office on July 4, 2023. He had also been charged with speeding, 21 miles per hour or over the limit, but the charge was dropped.
Riley was sentenced to 2 years in prison, with all but 7 days suspended. On the suspended portion, the defendant was placed on probation with terms to include completion of a substance abuse evaluation with follow through of treatment, a course for drinking drivers, plus payment of a fine and fees totaling $2,256.25.
Just days ago, on September 28, 2023, Riley was ticketed in Boone county for failure to maintain control of his vehicle.
