Randy was born on September 22, 1952 in Buffalo Center, Iowa, the son of Russell and Lola (Hammond) Krominga of Titonka, Iowa. Randy and his brothers graduated from Titonka High School and helped with their parents business, the Titonka Locker. Randy later moved to Mason City with some school friends where they shared a house. He met Sharon Osier, Greene, Iowa and they were united in marriage on July 12, 1974 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Greene, Iowa. Randy worked numerous jobs over the years but his favorite job was being a dad and grandpa.
Randy loved to collect things, including hot wheels, coins and anything to do with what he loved like the Beatles, NASCAR, Iowa Hawkeyes, Dallas Cowboys and Country Westerns. He also had a special talent for taming stray cats, at one time he had five of them living with him. He was known as the “cat whisperer” by family members.
