IOWA CITY – University of Iowa track and field welcomes 15 student-athletes to the women’s program as part of the 2023 recruiting class, Director of Iowa Track and Field Joey Woody announced, including an athlete from New Hampton.

“I’m very excited for this year’s incoming class,” Woody said. “We have a ton of talented and dedicated student-athletes joining us from all over the world, and we are eager to start working with this group to continue to compete for Big Ten titles and elevate our program at the NCAA Championships.”

This year’s incoming class represents six states, including five athletes from the state of Iowa. The Hawkeyes also welcome two student-athletes from France.

“There are a lot of immediate impact athletes in this recruiting class who will make big contributions to our program throughout their careers,” Woody added. “Even though we graduated some terrific athletes last year, I believe many of these newcomers will fill those holes. They have the potential to continue to elevate our program to the top of the Big Ten Conference and NCAA.”
