Patrick Ruben Burgoa Cameron, 32, passed away on Wednesday, June 7, 2023 at the University of Iowa Hospital, Iowa City. He moved with his family to Mason City, IA in August of 1997.

Patrick Ruben Burgoa Cameron, 32, passed away on Wednesday, June 7, 2023 at the University of Iowa Hospital, Iowa City.

Patrick was born January 23, 1991 in La Paz, Bolivia. He came with his parents Stephen Fitchie Cameron and Diana Duvall Cameron to New Orleans at the age of eleven months. Patrick always considered himself a New Orleanian, and always mentioned that he had been greatly influenced by his early years living there. He moved with his family to Mason City, IA in August of 1997.

He had two wonderful children with Alexis Barnish, Ruben and Molly. He was very proud of them and loved them with his whole heart. He had a strong poetic sense and treasured his book of Edgar Alan Poe’s writings. Patrick was gifted musically and artistically. He loved Mozart and Tupac. He composed music in many styles and genres. Patrick remembered with pleasure his performance at the Rose Bowl.

Patrick was intrigued by different cultures. He had a special affinity for all things Japanese.

He was a loving, thoughtful and entertaining son who brought a lot of joy and good times to his parents. Patrick and his father enjoyed numerous camping trips together.

Patrick and his mother watched Cats many many times as well as the Nutcracker. It was one of the favorite memories he and his mom shared growing up.

Patrick was cherished by his cousins, aunts, and uncles in Kentucky where they enjoyed many family visits over the years.

His parents are very grateful for his thirty-two years and for what they got to experience with him.
