Martin Charles Grady, 88, of Mason City, IA, passed away June 2, 2023, at home with his loved ones by his side.
March 7, 1935 – June 2, 2023
Per his wishes, the family will have a private graveside service.
Martin was born March 7, 1935 in Mason City, son of Dale and Renelda (George) Grady. He attended Mason City High school and went on to work at Deckers. He met and married the love of his life, Faye Read, November 11, 1956 at Wesley United Methodist Church in Mason City. Martin drove for Farmland Industries for over 30 years.
Martin was an avid fisherman and hunter. Fishing was his first love and upon his retirement, it was hard to keep him away from the water. He was skilled with his hands and when he wasn’t fishing; he enjoyed woodworking as well. First and foremost, Martin loved his family. He took great pride in all their achievements and spent as much time as he could with them.
Martin is survived by his wife, Faye; children, Kathy (Dale) Arnold, Debbie (Ron) Pumphrey, Becky (Dave) Baack, Marty (Shelly) Grady; grandchildren, Andy (Jen) Menges, Ben(Fiancee, Sarah) Menges,
Derek (Carley) Arnold, Martin Bradley Grady, Wyatt Grady, Sarah (Brett) Coberley,
Jenny (John) Kolb, Ryan (Heather) Baack, Reid (Jess) Baack; great-grandchildren, Kayla (Alex) Lucas, Arabella and Tristan Coberley, Cody, Grace and Jacob Kolb, McKenzie Miller, Raif, Madeline, and Bennett Baack,
and Avery Arnold; brother, Ted (Marie) Grady; as well as many friends and extended family.
Martin was preceded in death by his parents, Dale and Renelda; as well as his paternal and maternal grandparents.
