FAIRBANK, IOWA – A Northern Iowa man barricaded himself in a garage as police arrived to thwart a violent domestic incident.
On May 12, 2023, at approximately 2:10 AM, the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office took a 911 call of a domestic assault with injuries at 23000 block of 20th Street near Fairbank, Iowa. Fayette County Deputies and Buchanan County Sheriff’s Deputy arrived on scene and the suspect was barricaded in the garage. Forced entry was made, and suspect was taken into custody without incident.
Brian Lee Beesecker, 51 of Fairbank IA, was arrested and charged with Felony Domestic Assault, impeding air flow and causing injury, a Class D Felony. Beesecker was taken into custody and transported to Fayette County Jail, where he is currently being held until initial appearance. Fayette County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by Buchanan County Sheriff’s Office.
