FAYETTE COUNTY – A Northern Iowa man was charged with a felony after an allegedly violent encounter.
At 10:29 AM on March 28, 2023, the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office was called to Washington Street in Elgin for a disturbance. When Deputies arrived and after an investigation, 37-year-old Jayson Vazquez-Munoz of Elgin was arrested and charged with Domestic Abuse Assault Causing Injury (Class D Felony), Obstruct Emergency Communications(Serious Misdemeanor), and False Imprisonment (Serious Misdemeanor).
Vazquez-Munoz was taken to the Fayette County Jail where he was held for an initial appearance and later bonded out on a $2,000 bond.
Fayette County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Elgin Ambulance Service.
