WATERLOO – A tragic shooting at a downtown Waterloo club back in 2020 has finally led to murder charges for a suspect.
On Saturday, September 26th, 2020 Waterloo Police responded to the 500 blk of W 4th Street reference a shooting. Officers arrived on scene and found that multiple shots had been fired by multiple people.
Two individuals, identified as Dacarious Burkett and Takeya Hogan-Camp, were found to have suffered gunshot wounds and succumbed to their injuries. Several other persons suffered gunshot wounds or other injuries, as well.
As a result of the investigation, Waterloo police have charged 23-year-old Willie Edward Saffold, Jr. with two counts of first degree murder. He remains held in the Black Hawk County Jail at this time.
