Wilma “Renae” Bock, 86, of Charles City, passed away Tuesday, March 21, 2023 at the Floyd County Medical Center in Charles City.

Wilma “Renae” Bock, 86, of Charles City, passed away Tuesday, March 21, 2023 at the Floyd County Medical Center in Charles City.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, March 25, 2023 with Reverend Tom Heathershaw officiating. Burial will be at Westside Cemetery in Marble Rock, Iowa at 2:00 p.m. Saturday afternoon.

Visitation will be at Hauser Weishaar Funeral Home from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Friday, March 24, 2023 where a Rosary will be prayed at 4:30 p.m. Visitation will continue one hour before the funeral Mass at the church on Saturday.

Wilma Irene (Friedrichs) Bock, the daughter of Carl and Hattie (Abben) Friedrichs, was born September 9, 1936 in Marble Rock, Iowa. She attended school in Marble Rock, graduating in 1954 from the Marble Rock Consolidated School. Wilma worked at Northwestern Bell Telephone Company from 1955 to 1981 in both Waterloo and Mason City. She then worked at the Floyd County Medical Center (Floyd County Memorial Hospital) in Charles City from 1985 until her retirement in 1999.

Wilma was united in marriage to Richard Bock on August 13, 1980 in Charles City, and through this marriage she gained a wonderful/loving family. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church where she was active with St. Theresa Circle and Rosary Promoters. Wilma was also a member of the Charles City Woman’s Club and the VFW Auxiliary. She volunteered with the Floyd County Memorial Hospital Auxiliary, Hospice, Immaculate Conception Church and the Foster Grandparent Program.

Wilma enjoyed bowling, dancing, gambling, crocheting and bus trips, but most of all she loved spending time with her family. She will be greatly missed by all those who loved her.

Living family members include her eight children: Thomas (Julie) Bock of Charles City, Jane (Charles) Goedken of Urbandale, Dolores (Ron) Rosenbaum of Clear Lake, Rose (Mark) Hinders of Mitchell, Anastasia (Steve) Goche of Proctor, Arkansas, David Bock of Charles City, Nancy Bock of Nashua and Alan (Jackie) Bock of Mason City; daughter-in-law, Doris Bock of Phoenix, Arizona; 24 grandchildren; 42 great-grandchildren; sister: Mary Koenigsfeld of Greene; along with many nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.

Wilma was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Richard on August 5, 2005; two sons: Patrick Bock and James McLennan; two brothers: Robert Friedrichs and Lee Friedrichs; three sisters: Edna Garl, Carol Davis and Evelyn Staudt; and her feline companion, Patches.
