Charlotte Wehrspann, age 94 of Ottosen, passed away Tuesday, February 21, 2023 at the Algona Manor in Algona.

Charlotte Wehrspann, age 94 of Ottosen, passed away Tuesday, February 21, 2023 at the Algona Manor in Algona. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, February 28, 2023 at 10:30 AM at the Peace Lutheran Church in West Bend. Services will be live streamed: https://www.hdezwebcast.com/show/charlotte-wehrspann. Burial will take place at Union Cemetery in Ottosen. Visitation will be held on Monday, February 27, 2023 from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Peace Lutheran Church in West Bend.

Charlotte Ann, daughter of Sylvan and Bertha (Enockson) Jacobson, was born April 20, 1928 on her parents’ farm near Ottosen, Iowa. Charlotte was baptized at Trinity Lutheran Church, Ottosen, Iowa on May 12, 1928 and was also confirmed there on June 13, 1943. Charlotte graduated from Ottosen High School in 1945. She then graduated from Iowa State Teachers College in Cedar Falls, Iowa. She taught school at Lytton, Iowa. On September 26, 1948 she was united in marriage to Allan Fred Wehrspann at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Fort Dodge, Iowa.

Charlotte and Allan made their home and raised their seven children on the family farm near Ottosen. She was also a member of Peace Lutheran Church, West Bend, Iowa, Peace Lutheran Church evening guild, Ottosen Legion Auxiliary, card club for 65 years and a Camp Okoboji board member. She was a Twin Rivers Community School bus driver for 34 years. Charlotte enjoyed sewing, quilting, reading, gardening, bird watching, and baking. After Allan passed she spent many enjoyable hours with her rescue kitten Freddy.

Survivors include her children: Arlys (Jim) Carlson of Firestone, CO; Wayne (Cathy) Wehrspann of Tulsa, OK; Amy (Steve) Marquardt of Woodbury, MN; Joye (Phil) Chea of Broomfield, CO; Jana (Kenny) Bratland of Dakota City, Iowa; Mary Thul of Ottosen, Iowa; and Theodore (Genetta) Wehrspann of Tea, SD.
Grandchildren include Marnita, Jim, Christy, Monique, Molly, Jill, Heidi, Ken, Kevin, Karl, Mitch, Matt and Charlee, 21great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren and 2 more great great grandchildren on the way.

Sister-in-law Ruth Jacobson, brothers and sisters-in-law Louis and Muriel Jacobson and James and Arlene Jacobson, sister Wanda Alexander and brother Arlan Jacobson.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brother-in-law Howard Klemme, brother, Ralph Jacobson, husband, Allan and brother-in-law, Estel Alexander.
