WATERLOO – A shooting in Waterloo left one person flown to Iowa City with gunshot wounds and a young teen charged with attempted murder.
On Wednesday, February 15, 2023, at approximately 1:24 PM, Black Hawk County consolidated dispatch took a report of a shooting at 911 Leavitt Street in Waterloo, Iowa. Waterloo patrol officers and Waterloo fire personnel arrived on scene and began administering life saving measures to a male victim. The victim was transported to MercyOne by Waterloo fire personnel and was later flown to the University of Iowa Hospital.
Waterloo patrol and detectives were able to detain a 13-year-old juvenile and have charged the juvenile with two counts of attempted murder.
Waterloo Detectives are actively working this investigation.
