PALO ALTO COUNTY - A reckless convicted North Iowa drunk driver was caught by police on wrong the side of road, allegedly intoxicated again.

PALO ALTO COUNTY – A reckless convicted North Iowa drunk driver was caught by police on wrong the side of road, allegedly intoxicated again.

On January 16, 2023 at 10:13 PM, the Palo Alto County Sheriff’s Office received a complaint of a reckless driver. A deputy located the vehicle in the 3900 block of 330th Street and and following an investigation, the driver of the vehicle, 69-year-old Bruce Leners of Ruthven, Iowa, was placed under arrest and charged with second-offense operating while intoxicated (an aggravated misdemeanor), and driving on the wrong side of the road (a simple misdemeanor).

Following his arrest, Leners was placed in jail to await his initial appearance before a judge.

Leners was guilty of drunk driving and running a stop sign in Palo Alto county back in 2018.
