BUCHANAN COUNTY, IOWA - An Ohio woman was hurt after rolling her car on an icy Northern Iowa roadway.

BUCHANAN COUNTY, IOWA – An Ohio woman was hurt after rolling her car on an icy Northern Iowa roadway.

On Wednesday, January 04, 2023 at approximately 4:40 am, Buchanan County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a report of a motor vehicle accident in the 2500 blk Racine Avenue south of Winthrop.

According to the investigation, a 1998 Volvo VST operated by Amanda Mitchell of Upper Sandusky, Ohio, was traveling northbound on Racine Avenue when Sandusky lot control of the vehicle due to road surface conditions. The vehicle entered the east ditch and rolled over.

As a result of the accident, Sandusky was transported to Buchanan County Health Center in Independence with minor injuries.

The Buchanan County Sheriff’s Office was assisted at the scene by the Quasqueton Fire Department and AMR Ambulance Service.
