Clear Lake, Mason City and Cerro Gordo County have been working with RDG Planning and Design on a joint comprehensive plan for Clear Lake, Mason City, and the unincorporated areas of Cerro Gordo County.  Planning is underway.  The plan will create a strategy for future development, transportation, recreation, infrastructure, and renewable energy–among other topics.

Officials claim they want to hear from the public. The planning process is moving forward with a series of four open house events.  The open houses will allow you to work directly with the planning team to plan advancements and design concepts with the team. You are encouraged to pick a session to attend and provide your ideas. Please join us for one of the open houses.

  • Wednesday, January 25th, 12-1 p.m. and 4-6 p.m. in the Mason City Room of the Mason City Public Library
  • Thursday, January 26th, 4-6 p.m. at the Mason City Room of the Mason City Public Library
  • Wednesday, February 8th, 4-6 p.m. at the Clear Lake Athletics & Wellness Center
  • Thursday, February 9th, 12-1 p.m. at the Clear Lake Athletics & Wellness Center

These public open houses are come-and-go events. Bring the family and join the planning team for fun and planning. The final North Iowa Corridor Joint Comprehensive Plan will be completed in the summer of 2023.
