Norman Eugene Kittleson, 87, was born on April 28, 1935 to Floyd and Caroline Kittleson in Mitchell county. He graduated from St. Ansgar High School.

On September 16, 1956 Norm married Shirley Clausen in Toeterville, IA. Together they had three sons, Brian, Barry and Randy. They made their home near Carpenter IA farming for 16 years before moving to St. Ansgar in 1982. Along with farming,Norm also worked for the city of St. Ansgar until he retired.

Norm and Shirley spent a great deal of time traveling and following the many activities their sons and grandchildren participated in. He and Shirley were inducted into the STA Booster Club “Hall of Fame” recognizing them for their many years of dedication to STA athletics. 50 years ago, Norm, along with Larry Warrington and Ward Dunn, started the youth wrestling tournament which continues today. On Friday, December 3, 2022 Norm was able to witness tradition continueby watching two of his great grandson’s wrestle in his tournament. The joy he had watching those boys was evident by all there to share the evening. It goes without saying that family was Norm’s priority. He loved spending time with his grandchildren sharing stories or just enjoying hearing about their lives. He made a point to stay in touch regardless of where their lives have led them.

Norm was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley; parents, Floyd and Caroline and siblings, Galen Kittleson, Leroy Kittleson, Marly Kittleson, Carol Jones, Virgene Erdmann, ClaireKittleson, Charlotte Kittleson and Jim Kittleson.

Survivors include: three sons, Brian (Sheila) of Janesville IA, Barry (Pam) of St. Ansgar IA and Randy (Pam) of Verona WI; seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; one sister, Marjorie Johnson.
