Ronald Peter Zeimet, age 87 of Livermore, passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, Dec 20, 2022.

Ronald Peter Zeimet, age 87 of Livermore, passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, Dec 20, 2022. Visitation will be at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Livermore on Thursday, Dec 29, 4-7pm. Funeral services will be Friday, Dec 30, 10:30am, also at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Burial will take place at Mount Calvary Cemetery, Livermore. Ron was born to Henry and Marie (Gisch) Zeimet of Bode, IA, on July 27, 1935, the eldest of 8 children. He graduated from St Joseph Catholic School in 1953 and entered the Marine Corp. He served at Camp Narashino, Japan and Kaneohe Bay, Hawaii as a member of the Weapons Company, 3rd Marine Division. Ron met Mavis Johnson at a dance in Fort Dodge, and they were united in marriage on September 3, 1962 at St Mary’s Catholic Church in Humboldt, IA. Throughout their 60 years of marriage they enjoyed farming, dancing, playing cards and attending the sporting events and musical performances of their 4 children and 10 grandchildren. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Livermore and the Livermore Legion. He served as a member of the VFW Honor Guard for the burials of many local veterans.

Ron is survived by his wife, Mavis, children Kimberly (Scott) Johnson of Richmond, TX, Trudy (Scott) Hallgren of Ottumwa, IA, Paul (Sue) Zeimet of Cave Creek, AZ, Lori (Bob) Slettehaugh of Lenexa, KS, and 10 grandchildren: Tyler, Andy, Emma, Zoey, Jordan, Jaime, Katie, Sammie, Jadyn and Joel.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Marie Zeimet, his brother, Marvin Zeimet, and his sister, Debbie Willard.
