Women’s College Basketball: No. 9/8 Iowa defeats Oregon State, 73-59

All-American Caitlin Clark registered 18 points, five rebounds, and four assists in the first half giving Iowa a 44-37, lead heading into the break.

Clark finished with 28 points, nine rebounds, and eight assists. All of which were team-highs.

Clark has scored 20 or more points in all six games this season.

Monika Czinano registered 17 points and seven rebounds.

McKenna Warnock has scored in double figures four game this season. She had 12 tonight.

Iowa’s offense netted the most points Oregon State has given up this year.

Iowa improves to 2-0 in the all-time series against OSU.

The Hawkeyes had the fast break points edge over the Beavers, 12-0

The Hawkeyes won every quarter in the game and led for 37:19. The game saw five ties.

All five starters scored in the contest.

Czinano now ranks 5th all-time in scoring with 1,876 career points. Clark’s 1,824 career points has her ranked at 7th all-time.

Gabbie Marshall now has 140 career three-pointers which ranks her 12th all-time at Iowa.

Czinano moved past Warnock tonight on the career rebounds list. She now ranks 20th all-time with 583. Warnock ranks 21st with 580 boards in her career.

The nationally ranked Hawkeyes return to action on Sunday, when they play No. 3/3 UCONN in the Phil Knight Legacy Tournament Championship inside the Moda Center. Tip-off is scheduled Noon (CT) on ABC. The game will also broadcast on the Hawkeye Radio Network.
