HARDIN COUNTY - A head-on auto crash in Hardin county claimed the life of an Iowa Falls man.

HARDIN COUNTY – A head-on auto crash in Hardin county claimed the life of an Iowa Falls man.

According to the Iowa State Patrol, the crash took place on November 7, 2022. At about 1:57 PM that day, near 19424 Hwy D15, Iowa Falls, a 2018 Dodge Ram driven by 83-year-old Philip J. Book of Iowa Falls was southbound on County Road D15; Book was not wearing a seatbelt. At the same time, a 2007 Dodge Ram driven by 55-year-old Craig Bailey of Alden, Iowa, was northbound on that roadway. The patrol says Book’s Ram crossed the center line, causing a head-on collision.

As a result of this crash, Book was killed.

The accident remains under investigation.
