THURMAN, IOWA – Authorities are investigating a report of “multiple historic homicides” from a possible serial killer in rural Iowa.

State, local, and federal law enforcement officials are continuing their efforts to corroborate the report of multiple historic homicides in rural Fremont County, Iowa.

Weeks ago, a woman reported to authorities that her father was responsible for the murder of up to 70 women, whom he allegedly buried in a rural area in Fremont county, Iowa, south of Omaha. Reportedly, a cadaver picked up a scent of human remains in the area in question.

No additional information is currently available in this investigation, authorities say.

Law enforcement claims they will keep the public apprised of any significant developments. The Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation (DCI) will serve as the primary point of contact for all additional media inquiries.

The Iowa DCI is working in conjunction with the Fremont County Sheriff’s Office and federal authorities.
